We only source timber from sustainable FSC® C002962 or PEFC certified suppliers, while our own Chain of Custody (CoC) certification allows our clients to meet the BREEAM, LEED and WELL requirements on their projects. In addition, we only use Class E1 MDF, which has a 8mg/100g formaldehyde content.
We've introduced low urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive for hot-pressed veneer panel fabrication. Our use of water-based paint or priming has increased significantly, as has our use of pre-primed timber using water-based paint. We also work with our supply chain constantly to keep abreast of new technologies. This means we can advise our clients on proven, viable options – such as the very latest in low VOC paints and lacquers, or water-based alternatives.
Committed to encouraging the next generation of bench joiners, we provide work experience opportunities to students at local schools and take on at least two apprentices every year (70% of whom now work full-time in our business). We also work with clients to find apprentices from communities that are local to specific projects.
